Phoenix School 'SHAKEN AND STIRRED' As Benham and Reeves Lettings help raise £17,000 in 'CASINO ROYALE' charity event
PRESS RELEASE 02 JULY 2009
Parents, children and staff at the Phoenix School (part of University College School) in Frognal were shaken and stirred when Hampstead-based agent Benham and Reeves Residential Lettings helped them to raise £17,000 for charity in a James Bond-style Casino Royale champagne reception, dinner, auction and casino night on June 20th.
Over 250 people attended the sell-out ‘Casino Royale Summer Bash’ which was sponsored by the well-known lettings agent, helping to raise funds for The Liangshan Schools Trust, Nirvana School in India and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.
The Casino Royale theme proved a hit with guests who dressed the part in glamorous evening wear inspired by the James Bond movies. Parents and staff rose to the occasion, enjoying the thrills of the casino as well as taking the opportunity to bid in the auction where prizes included a holiday on a stunning yacht!
"£17,000 is a fantastic amount of money to raise for these important charities." comments Vidhur Mehra, Finance Director of Benham and Reeves Residential Lettings. “It’s great that the school plays such an active role in the community and we are pleased to be able to support such a fantastic initiative. And of course this type of fund-raising event also provides an excellent example for the children – encouraging them to help those less fortunate than themselves."
